Genesis 13
Gen
13:1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his
wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
Gen 13:2 And Abram was
very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
Gen 13:3 And he went on his journeys from the south
even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning,
between Bethel and Hai;
Gen 13:4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had
made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.
Gen 13:5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had
flocks, and herds, and tents.
Gen 13:6 And the land was not able to bear them, that
they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could
not dwell together.
Gen 13:7 And there was a strife between the herdsmen
of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.
Gen 13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no
strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy
herdsmen; for we be brethren.
Gen 13:9 Is not
the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right;
or if thou depart
to the right hand, then I will go to the left.
Gen 13:10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all
the plain of Jordan, that it was well
watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of
Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.
Gen 13:11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan;
and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.
Gen 13:12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot
dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his
tent toward Sodom.
Gen 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD
exceedingly.
Gen 13:14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot
was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and
look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and
westward:
Gen 13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever.
Gen 13:16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the
earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
Gen 13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of
it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.
Gen 13:18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in
Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.
Genesis 14
Gen
14:1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch
king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer
king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;
Gen 14:2 That these made war with Bera
king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the
king of Bela, which is Zoar.
Gen 14:3 All these were joined together in the vale of
Siddim, which is the salt sea.
Gen 14:4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer,
and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
Gen 14:5 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims
in Ashteroth Karnaim, and
the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims
in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
Gen 14:6 And the Horites in
their mount Seir, unto El-paran,
which is by the wilderness.
Gen 14:7 And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.
Gen 14:8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the
king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king
of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela
(the same is Zoar)
and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;
Gen 14:9 With Chedorlaomer
the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel
king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.
Gen 14:10 And the vale of Siddim
was full
of slime pits; and the kings of Sodom
and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.
Gen 14:11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and
Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.
Gen 14:12 And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who
dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
Gen 14:13 And there came one that had escaped, and told
Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre
the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were
confederate with Abram.
Gen 14:14 And when Abram heard that his brother was
taken captive, he armed his trained servants,
born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
Gen 14:15 And he divided himself against them, he and
his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on
the left hand of Damascus.
Gen 14:16 And he brought back all the goods, and also
brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the
people.
Gen 14:17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him
after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer,
and of the kings that were with him, at
the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.
Gen 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth
bread and wine: and he was the priest of
the most high God.
Gen 14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of
heaven and earth:
Gen 14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath
delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave
him tithes of all.
Gen 14:21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give
me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
Gen 14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have
lifted up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven
and earth,
Gen 14:23 That I will not take
from a thread even to to a shoelatchet,
and that I will not take any thing that is
thine, lest thou shouldest
say, I have made Abram rich:
Gen 14:24 Save only that which the young men have
eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner,
Eshcol, and Mamre; let them
take their portion.
Matthew 7
Mat
7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3 And why beholdest
thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine
eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine
own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Mat 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth
these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock.
Mat 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Mat 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended
these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
Mat 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
